About crystal geckos

I m looking for some upgrades stones in 4-3... I farm those geckos a few times, but they don t seem to appear anymore.

At first i didn t excepect the gecko to be limited.. heard you just have to reload a game to get them back... But it seems i m screwed for now, haven t get my hand on the pure blackmoon stone... Is there a way to make them reapear ?

You get a new gecko everytime you kill a boss in that particular world, but once they're all gone, that's it until the next playthrough.

If you're looking for the Pure Darkmoonstone, you're pretty much screwed until your next playthrough. According to the wikidot site, you should also be able to get it from the geckos in 4-2, but the only place I've ever gotten them was in 4-3.

I think I may have a Pure Darkmoonstone in my Platinum character's inventory. Soul Level is about 190. I'd have to check, but if I do have it, I wouldn't mind parting with it, the character's a melee build, so the Darkmoonstones are pretty much useless.

You can get Pure Darkmoonstone i believe from those reapers in 4-2. You need very black or even pure black world tendency to get it.

I killed the reaper just before the slug pit in 4-2 literally over 50 times in one day at PBWT with the Large Sword of Searching equipped and never got the pure stone from him... I'm not doubting what you're saying, it just seems to be incredibly rare.

pure darkmoon is from gekos ONLY on 4-2 and 4-3. reapers on 4-2 only drop shard/chunk. this info is from the delux guidebook.

as far as geko respawns go, the rule is you get 1 geko, then an extra geko for each boss you killed in that world. so for world 1, you can kill a given geko up to 5 times. the other worlds have 4 of each. the number goes down if the geko dies or escapes. so if you see it run away and vanish, that is -1 for that geko. if it suicides off a cliff, that is -1, if you kil it, that is -1. so for the gekos you want to kill, make sure that YOU kill them since if they die any other way or escape, it still counts toward their total spawn count.
